- The capital account balance is the credit and debit entries for non-produced non-financial assets and capital transfers between residents of Ghana and non-Ghanaian residents.
- The current account balance is the sum of net exports of goods and services, net primary income, and net secondary income.
- Net official transfers are the net flow of unilateral transfers between governments, including foreign aid, grants, and official gifts that do not require repayment.
- Net private transfers are the net flow of unilateral transfers between private individuals or entities, such as remittances, charitable donations, and personal gifts.
- Errors and omissions (net) is a balancing item in the balance of payments that accounts for discrepancies and unrecorded transactions to ensure the accounts balance.
- The financial account balance records the net flow of financial assets and liabilities, including investments, loans, and banking transactions between Ghana and the rest of the world.
- The foreign direct investment is the net inflow of investment to acquire a lasting management interest (10 percent or more of voting stock) in an enterprise operating by non-Ghanaians in the Ghanaian economy.
